Action Plan for Cultural Tourism Development
The Action Plan for Cultural Tourism Development stems from the overall Strategy of Tourism Development until 2020 that has been adopted in 2013. Cultural tourism has been recognized in the overall Strategy as one of ten key products of the Strategy of Tourism Development. As such it should give a key contribution to the overall tourism development oriented to: achieving better global recognition; repositioning of Croatia as a destination of diverse and authentic contents and events; broadening of the geographic and temporal dispersion of the touristic offer and enriching of the Croatian tourism offer so as to increase the number of tourist visits and tourism consumption.
There are sixteen measures for achieving goals of the action plan, which are distributed through five key areas that deal with: the enhancement of the infrastructure for cultural tourism; the development of products for cultural tourism; changing (international) marketing of cultural tourism; creation of the partnership for the cultural tourism development; and finally, the improvement of education for cultural tourism.
The Action Plan follows the main policy outlines of the Strategy and defines concrete activities and measures that should be taken in order for the cultural-touristic offer to develop according to the goals set in the national strategic framework.
