Objectifs clefs de la mesure:

The Kenya Vision 2030 is the country's long term development blueprint that aims at creating a globally competitive and prosperous country with a high quality life for all its citizens that will transform Kenya into a newly industrialized middle income country by 2030. The measure was introduced in 2008. The Kenyan national vision is based on the government conviction that it's national policy shall consider culture and national heritage as one of the keys to the country's sustainable development. This vision will enrich kenya's international cooperation especially in all aspects related with information and transfer of technology. The policy will ensure that national heritage in all their forms are preserved, enhanced and handed over to future   generations as a record of human experience and aspirations, so as to foster creativity in all its diversity and to inspire genuine dialogue among kenya's diverse cultures and beyond.

The Kenya Vision 2030 will be realized over a succession of different five year time horizons, each with defined goals that are consisted with the overarching goal of the vision. The first Medium Term Plan (2008-2012), which was simultaneously launched with  the Vision,  implemented the initial five years of the Vision 2030 strategy. This succeeded the Economic Recovery Strategy (ERS-2003-2007). A vision Delivery Secretariat located within the Ministry of Planing National Development and Vision 2030 co-ordinates and track the programs started during the ERS period while also implementing the Millennium Development Goals.    
Development plans linked to the Vision 2030 and the five year Medium Term Plans have also been prepared to to cater for local level implementation Strategies. Plans are also being put in place for construction of an International Cultural Centre as the Vision 2030 flagship project.  This is aimed at mainstreaming culture in development.

Challenges identified in the implementation of this measure:

Delay in project implementation and Inadequate funding for the projects. High rate of unemployment among the youth, addressing the issue of gender balance in all national initiatives and programmes.
