Le Bureau de l’UNESCO de Beyrouth, en partenariat avec le Ministère syrien de l’information et la Commission nationale syrienne pour l'UNESCO, organise un atelier de formation de trois jours sur le journalisme d’investigation, auquel participeront 27 jeunes journalistes de divers organes de presse.

Scientific background: The investigative journalism emerged with the beginning of the evolution of the concept of journalism and its role in society and its tendency to highlight, focus and investigate certain issues that occur in society, especially aspects of deviation and corruption. It is the embodying the role of the fourth authority of the media in the communities, or what the monitoring function of the media in the framework of the professionalism required of the media institution and includes the investigative press reveal hidden things to the public - things either deliberately hidden by someone in power, or disappeared behind the accident. The messy mess of facts and circumstances has become difficult to understand and require the use of information sources.

Themes: The difference between traditional and investigative journalism, exploring the new investigative journalism worlds, investigative journalism areas, historical access to investigative journalism before and after, investigative ethics and investigative journalist tools, investigative reporter specifications, how to look for a survey story.

Objectives:
1- Preparing journalists in a scientific way in the field of investigative journalism and its various applications.
2- Ensuring that the investigative journalism is legal and takes into account societal and moral values and does not expose its owner to the legal issue and does not deal with the accusations.
3- The shift in the Syrian press to the journalism of accuracy and depth, which is guaranteed by the professional investigative journalist.
4- Formation of trained teams.
5- Advancing investigative reality.

Outputs:
- Training Syrian journalists in the field of investigative journalism and supervising the work of Syrian journalists in preparing them for investigative investigations.
- Provide them with scientific, professional, legal and ethical advice to practice the profession, which will lead to its role in society as required.
- Institutionalization of investigative work.
- Forming a survey team.
- The existence of a professional code of conduct controlling the work.
- Formation of public opinion to create a social culture
- Provide a database and a scientific agenda to work at the level of work survey (center studies)
