My research focuses on art and visual culture in international relations and world politics, particularly in relation to human rights, transitional justice, and conflict. My book, The Justice of Visual Art: Creative State-Building in Times of Political Transition (CUP 2020), explores how art can engage and shape ideas of justice in order to address violent and traumatic pasts, reconcile divided nations, and strengthen state institutions in the aftermath of conflict.
