I'm a PhD candidate in economics at Brown University, USA. I do research in economic growth and development, political economy, culture, and population. My focus is on how inter-group attitudes are shaped, and how they affect development; what is the role of deep-rooted historical factors in comparative development; and how autocratic regimes transition to democracy, and what is the role of societal social values in this process. I do research and teach at Brown. Before, I was working at Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia).
