Introduction
ABDIRISAK ADEN - EDUCATION SPECIALIST: I am an experienced international education specialist with a strong background in Education in Emergencies (EiE) Programming, Education Sector/Cluster Coordination Mechanisms and Education System Strengthening particularly on Monitoring and Evaluation.
I am currently deployed to Jordan MoE as a technical advisor on M&E through a joint initiative between UNESCO and NORCAP. I have worked as an Education Cluster Coordinator for Save the Children International to lead a large-scale EiE response in the humanitarian context of Iraq. I have also served as an Education in Emergencies Specialist (EiES) for UNICEF Education Projects in Libya, Education Specialist for UNICEF education projects targeting Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and a Deputy Education Program Manager for Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Education Programs in Somalia.
I have practical knowledge in the design and implementation of EiE programs, Coordination and leading education response at the sector-wide approach, and system strengthening particularly on M&E of education system to enhance access and quality of education. I have successfully led and supported sector/cluster partners to design a comprehensive strategic direction of education response, capacity building interventions, and advocacy to ensure the success of programmatic implementation. I have worked closely with MoEs, as well as Local, Regional and Global education authorities in education system strengthening, design and implementation of educational programs.
