Dr. Amsalu Woldie Yalew is an economist with Ca' Foscari University of Venice researching the nexus between environment and economic development. His research touches climate change, agricultural development, energy transition, human health, and sustainable development in developing countries. He has more than 10 years of research and teaching experience.

Senior Fellow with Indian Council of Research on International Economic Relations. I worked at TERI on the execution and diffusion of greener and sustainable agriculture and wasteland solutions in India for over 20 years (with 15 years as Head of the Centre for Mycorrhizal Research and two-years as Associate Director, Sustainable Agriculture Division). So far, I have executed 11 research projects as lead Investigator and four research projects as co-lead investigator. I joined ICRIER in September 2021. At ICRIER, I am working on policies related to climate smart agriculture, environment, and GERD. I received my doctorate in microbiology with a specific interest in mycorrhiza.

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment. My primary research interests are macroeconomics, heterogeneous agents models, and climate economics. I develop theoretical macroeconomic models to investigate the low-carbon transition under policy uncertainty and rising concentration leading to inequality.

Jurgen De Wispelaere is a public policy scholar with a particular interest in welfare state research and social protection. He is a Visiting Professor with Götz Werner Chair of Economic Policy and Constitutional Economic Theory, University of Freiburg. He is an expert on the politics of basic income and has published extensively on this topic in international journals and edited collections. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Office of the Pilot Plan to implement Universal Basic Income in Catalunya.
